Not sure how it all took place, but updating Windows XP Home to Service Pack 2 , set me up for extreme problems. How? Well my Media Player Ver 9 was working fine. Played ALL my audio disks. Anyway , in my desire to stay updated with all Windows stuff, I updated to Player Ver 10.
Big mistake. The one rare time that I neglected to do my home work first. Now I have a new updated Version 10 , of Media Player on my computer. Only thing is it WONT play the disks that I've used all along with out any problem. So, now I do my homework. Find that there must be hundreds of Version 10 users, that got the same or close too problem. Cant play certain disks. Any way ,when and if a fix shows up, will post it.
Even tried GOING back to Version 9, ha, whatever took place even prevents the older version from working. News groups , no help. Microsoft knowledge base, no help. Other news groups, no help. We'll see, what's next!
